WHAT TO EXPECT MOVING FORWARD
- Changes and disruptions in the project area: Short term (7 days or less) lane closures on Main Avenue, Medary Avenue, 20th Street South, and Tallgrass Parkway are likely at various times throughout the project. Private driveways will require short term (7 days or less) half-width closures.
- Yard Disruption: Minor
- Sprinkler System Disruption: Possible
- Special Accommodations: Pedestrian access will be moved to the sidewalk along the north side of 20th Street South for the duration of the project.

Overview
Project Description:
The City will be upgrading the sidewalk on the south side of 20th Street South, from Main Avenue S to the Branch Creek development. The current 5-foot sidewalk will be replaced with an 8-foot shared-use path for both pedestrians and cyclists. Minor drainage improvements will be made near Medary Avenue, and a short on-street path—marked with barriers and striping—will connect to the Fischback Soccer Fields driveway. Curb ramps and crossings along the route will be updated to meet ADA standards. Please expect construction activity at intersecting roads and driveways.
Why the Project:
This segment has been identified as the next phase in a larger effort to provide shared-use opportunities and connectivity throughout the City of Brookings.
