Overview
Project Description:
Construction of a new 6 Million Gallons Per Day (MGD) water treatment plant incorporating aeration, lime softening, media filtration, on-site storage, and high service pumping. In conjunction with the pipeline improvement projects, the treated water from the new facility will be pumped into the existing distribution system.
Why the Project:
To provide additional water to the City and replace old infrastructure. The existing North water treatment plant has exceeded it useful life and will be decommissioned and demolished once the new 6 MGD water treatment plant is operational. The new facility, in conjunction with the existing East water treatment plant, will be capable of providing up to 10 MGD of treated water to the distribution system.
Estimated Completion:
- New 6 MGD WTP Operational: October 2025
- North WTP Demolished: May 2026
